Edible wild greens and chives in Korea

Image
1. 냉이(naengi)-Capsella bursa-pastoris It grows from February to March in Korea and people eat it a lot in spring, and from April to May it is tough and not eaten well. The efficacy of this wild vegetable is helpful in improving high blood pressure and eyesight, and is often as an ingredient for soybean stew. Those who have eaten a lot of soybean paste stew in the spring in Korea will have tasted it. If you like to cook, go to the mountains between February and March to collect it and try making soybean soup.  2. 달래(dallae)-Allium monanthum The stem of this wild plant is long and grows well in a cool place, and both the leaves and the root can be eaten raw. It is mainly used as an ingredient for soup or pancakes, and is also used as a medicinal herb. It tastes good when eaten with Suyuk(boiled pork) or Samgyeopsal(grilled pork belly). It is also eaten with seasonings. According to oriental medicine, it helps the circulation of blood and qi, and is said to be helpful in the body. 3. 쇠비

Korean Bulgogi Stew served in a bowl

Image
A Ttukbaegi is a porcelain bowl. In this bowl, put pork bulgogi, vegetables, and broth and boil to make a bowl of ttukbaegi bulgogi. Cooking methods and ingredients are determined by the restaurant. So, even if the same ttukbaegi bulgogi has different ingredients and nutrients, the taste will be different. Just like if the ingredients for a hamburger are different, the taste will be different. So, it's fun to find a restaurant that makes Ttukbaegi Bulgogi delicious and become regulars. Last time I blogged about this restaurant. This is my second visit to eat this food, and I'll tell you what I couldn't finish last time. A large amount of Bulgogi in a Ttukbaegi at the 미가원 Migawon Ttukbaegi Bulgogi cooked by the chef of Migawon Steak Restaurant. There was a lot of pork bulgogi in the bowl. Other restaurants often use a 4:6 pork to vegetable ration. But I love the 8:2 meat/vegetable ratio here. The Bulgogi is lean, not chewy, not thick, and tastes great. It was the most delic

Korea chicken brand G-cova

Image
지코바 양념 치킨 배달 delivered G-cova chicken set I ordered G-cova Boneless chicken through a Korean delivery app Baedal Minjok. Inside the paper bag was a box of chicken, a pack of diced radishes, a Coke and plastic cup of ice. The material of the paper bag is coated so that it does not get wet with water. I like G-cova packaging style. 떡볶이와 훈제 양념 치킨의 조화! The harmony of tteokbokki and smoked spicy chicken!  When ordering G-cova seasoned chicken, you can select the spiciness level from high to low (Low = Mild, Medium = Normal, High = Spicy). I like the mild taste. If you don't like the spicy taste preferred by Koreans, you should also choose the mild taste. The lean meat is part of the chicken leg and is served with tteokbokki. Diced Radish Kkakdugi and coke will cool your spicy taste.

24시 청기와 감자탕(24si cheong-giwa gamjatang) 24 o'clock Cheong-giwa gamjatang Restaurant Is the Ttukbaegi Bulgogi delicious at a restaurant specializing in Gamjatang? Have you ever eaten chicken at a pizza restaurant? or have you ever eaten pizza at a restaurant that specializes in burgers? How did it taste? Was it good or bad? I don't know if there is such a restaurant in America. It is in Korea. I visited one of those restaurant a couple of days ago. I tried Ttukbaegi Bulgogi at a restaurant specializing in Gamjatang. I wondered what the taste of Ttukbaegi Bulgogi at a restaurant specializing in Gamjatang would be like. The name of the restaurant is 'Cheong giwa Gamjatang', operates 24 hours and the franchise restaurant.  I couldn't understand why the name of the restaurant was '청기와', because the building of the restaurant wasn't blue tile and roof. If you are curious about what '청기와(cheonggiwa)' or '감자탕(gamjatang) is, search for it in the searc

Gwangneung Bulgogi Restaurant with Garden and K-Culture

Image
Gwangneung Bulgogi Restaurant like a relaxing place  I found a nice Korean restaurant with a garden while walking on the road with the stream flowing sideways. The name is 광릉 불고기 Gwangneung Bulgogi. This is a franchise restaurant, and the first restaurant is located in Gwangneung, Namyangju city. There was no signboard or restaurant name. That's why this place also had the word "간판 없는 식당 a restaurant without a sign" written on the signboard. It is a memory of historical facts from the past.  Remember, You have to take off your shoes to enter this restaurant. There menu for 1 serving is limited But I was disappointed to hear the waitress say that you cannot order pork and beef because you are alone. She said it's a menu for more than two, not a menu for one. I asked what the menu for one person was, and she said spicy galbijjim, yukgaejang and naengmyeon. I was offended and wanted to go to another restaurant, but it was hot outside, so I decided to just eat here today.

Gaya Korean restaurant in Gangnam Eonju Station, Exit 8

Image
Gaya Restaurant(가야식당) is located near Eonju Station in Gangnam, Seoul, close to Novotel and Dormy Inn Gangnam Hotel, Samjung Hotel too. There is Burger king near Eonju Station, but there are many Korean restaurants near Eonju Station, including Gaya Restaurant. It is nearby CHA hospital and many companies, and it is open 24 hours.  The catchphrase here is "Tasty home-cooked food prepared by mom". I also like this place. Let's go inside.  The restaurant inside is not spacious. We got there at 11, avoiding the crowds. It's special to have a large mirror inside. Let me introduce you to the menu. I wrote it in Korean and English. If you order Korean food, say it in Korean so that the waiter will understand it.  순두부(Sundubu Jjigae) : Soft tofu stew  된장찌개(doenjang jjigae) : Soybean Paste Stew 김치찌개(kimchi jjigae) : Kimchi Stew 뚝배기불고기(ttukbaegi bulgogi) : Boiled Bulgogi in a bowl ✓ 제육볶음(jeyug bokkeum) : Stir-fired pork ✓ 오징어볶음(ojing-eo bokkeum) : Stir-fried Squid 알탕(altang)

Abai Village’s famous Sundae Gukbap

There are people who love pork soup so much and people who don't like pork soup. Called Sundae Gukbap, located in the beach of Abai Village in Sokcho, is famous place. This is not better than other restaurants. This food is just suitable for here. The menu board on the wall contained Korean and English. All foods in the restaurant are packaged and sold or delivered to your home.   모둠생선구이 Grilled Fishes 순대국 Sundae Guk  (Pork intestines and Sundae in the soup) 물회( Mulheo ) Cold Raw Fish Soup  회무침( hoemuchim )  생선모둠조림(Saengseon modeum jolim) Boiled fishes mixed with spices 가자미 식해( gajami sikhae ) flatfish sikhae  명태회 식해(myeontae hoe sikhae) Alaska pollack to mess 아바이순대(Abai Sundae) North Korean Style Sausage 오징어순대(ojing-eo sundae) Squid Sundae 모둠순대(modeum sundae) Assorted Sundae  새우튀김( saeutwigim )Fried Shrimp  벌떡주( beoltteogju ) 옥수수 동동주(ogsusu dongdongju) corn dongdongju 청하( cheongha ) 맥주/소주(maegju/soju) Beer / Soju 생막걸리 Makgeolli 음료수(eumlyosu) beverages  The soup taste of Sundae
