Ttukbaegi Bulgogi in Bucheon

Before reviewing...

Ttukbaegi Bulgogi is cooked by boiling bulgogi in a soup. The name of the dish is Ttukbaegi Bulgogi because it is served in a Ttukbaegi bowl. Today, I am writing about the review of eating the food at the Migawo(미가원) restaurant in Bucheon, Korea.

You should try the Ttukbaegi Bulgogi in here. It's in the Top 3 of the Ttukbaegi Bulgogi restaurants I've ever eaten. So let's get started. I upload the picture first and then write the article

The name of the restaurant is Migawon, and the main menu is grilled pork and beef. A sign indicating that the restaurant was opend in 2000 is written on the inside wall of the restaurant. The logo symbolizing the titled house was impressive.

The inside of the restaurant was very spacious. There were six rooms, and in the center of the dining room there was a table seating where you had to take off your shoes to enter and sit on the floor.

Near the dining room kitchen was a refrigerator with bottles of wine, soju, beer and soda bottles. The drinks you order are brought to your table by the waitress.

The tables with fire pits are standard. Today is the day to eat Ttukbaegi Bulgogi, so I will not use that fire plate. On the corner of the table are paper cups, tissues, a pepper shaker and a bottle opener.

At the entrance of the restaurant, guided by the waitress, I sat down and ordered food, and soon she provided my table with a spoon and chopstick, alcohol wipes and 500 liters of bottle water. In the middle of the photo, the price was not written on the bill. The price of Ttukbaegi Bulgogi is 10,000 won, includes a bowl of rice and side dishes.

This is a typical meat restaurant style. If you order Ttukbaegi Bulgogi at a regular Korean restaurant, these side dishes are not served. This restaurant serves ssamjang and vegetables in the style of a meat restaurant in Korea. Let me explain the side dishes.

  • (Main) Ttukbage Bulgogi (The amount of bulgogi is emphasized)

  • (Side) a bowl of white rice, Radish kimchi, Ssamjang sauce, Garlic, Kimchi, Picked Garlic  and Squid, Lettuce, Korean chili pepper, Korean Perilla and Chwinamul

If you want more side dishes, you can ask the waitress and there is no extra charge which is the culture of Korean restaurant.

I like to eat bulgogi with vegetables ins my hand and garlic dipped in ssamjang on top of it. There is no formula for eating Korean food, but there are various ways to enjoy it. Also, everyone has a different way of eating. It's Korean culture to wrap meat on vegetables like this way, you will get used to the taste of Korean food. Anyway, the choice is up to you.
