고양 독립운동 기념탑 Independence Movement Memorial Tower in Goyang city

고양시 정발산역 근처의 문화 광장에는 독립운동을 기념하는 타워가 있다. 

There is a tower commemorating the independence movement in the Cultural Plaza near Jeongbalsan Station in Goyang. The tower is a monument to comfort and commemorate the Koreans who fought for independence to be liberated from Japanese colonial rule. 

자전거를 타는 모자상 Mother and Son riding bikes

작품설명: 자전거 바퀴 사이에 모자(母子)가 서로 안고서 자전거를 타는 형상으로 자전거 이용을 통한 시민의 건강과 화목을 기원하고, 온 시민이 한마음으로 '자전거 천국 만들기' 에 참여함을 의미한다.

Description: The appearance of a mother and son riding a bicycle means that citizens wish for health and harmony through the use of bicycles and that citizens participate in 'making a bicycle paradise' with one mind.

9 스테인레스 원통 The Nine Stainless Cylinder 

일산 신도시 건설기념: 이 조형물은 일산 신도시 건설 사업의 성공적 완수를 기념하고 입주민의 애향심과 자긍심을 고취 시키고자 한국토지공사에서 제작 설치한 것입니다. 

윤동구, 이형우 공동 작품으로, 폭원 3M의 스테인리스 원통 9개와 원추형의 화강석 기단으로 이루어진 총 30M 높이의 조형물입니다. 

이 작품은 전통적 풍수의 음향 조화를 바탕으로 양(暘)적 요소인 정발산과 음(陰)적 요소인 호수 공원 사이에 위치하여 천지의 중간자를 상징하면서, 우주의 기(氣)가 바람을 받아 회전하는 원통형 모빌(MOBILE)과 어우러지며, 재생의 기운이 수직으로 우뚝 솟아 일산 신도시가 끊임없이 번영함을 의미하고 있습니다. 

Ilsan New Town Construction Monument: Manufactured and made by Korea Land Corporation To commemorate the successful construction and to inspire love and pride among citizens. 

The designers are Dong-gu Yun and Hyeong-woo Lee, and it is a 30-meter-tall art piece stacked with 9 3M wide stainless steel cylinders.  

This work is located between Jeongbal mountain which is bright and warm energy, and Lake Park which is cold energy, and symbolizes the middle ground between the sky and the earth. Also, it is rotated by the energy of the universe and the fact that it stands vertically means that Ilsan New City will prosper constantly.
