Procedures how to Fly a Drone in Korea

To fly a drone in Korea, you must submit an application for flight approval and an application for aerial photography.

You should keep in mind In Korea. your drone flight is governed by strict laws. 

Have you ever heard of a case in the news of a foreigner arrested by the police while flying a drone without permission in Korea? If you consider the relationship between South Korea and North Korea, you can see why the government and the Ministry of National Defense are sensitivity to drone controlled by civilians.

So how can foreigner fly drones in Korea? 

First of all. you need a Korean resident registration number to apply through the website. This website does not ask for your alien registration number or passport number. They only ask for your social security number. 

So, if you do not have Korean citizenship, you have to apply for drone flight in an informal way. 

The only way to do that is through the embassy of your country. Ask your embassy for help. It may be possible if the embassy verifies your identity and submits your flight application and filming application to the Korea MND. 

There is no official way until there is a law that allows foreigners to fly drones in Korea.
